Miami Mail and Package Center will now be sending text messages along with an email when a package is ready for pick-up to help expedite your experience. Either the text or the email code you receive will allow for retrieval of your package from the smart lockers within the first 24 hours.
- Please note our Return to Sender policy went into full effect on October 2, 2017. The policy states that packages are held in lockers for the first 24 hours before they are moved to the Customer Service Window for an additional 48 hours. Any unclaimed packages will be sent back to the original sender after 72-hours.
Amazon has dissolved their delivery contract with the Oxford USPS branch and recently begun to use an Uber-type service to have packages delivered to Miami’s campus. To date, the drivers are largely unaware of Miami University policies for package delivery.
The Miami Mail & Package Center has taken the following steps;
- Worked with all of the appropriate campus departments to funnel drivers back to the Mail & Package Center.
- Notified all students, RA's and RD's of the issue presented and provided functional guidance on the matter.
- Continue to reach out to Amazon and work with them on a larger scale to aid their understanding of delivery policies on campus.
