Customer Pickup Window Services

Packages that are too large to fit into lockers, requires refrigeration, or have not been picked up from the lockers within 24 hours, must be picked up from the customer service pickup window.

  • Package Pickup
    • Identification required.
    • Proxy allowed - forward your email notification to a friend who may scan the barcode at the pickup window; proxy must provide ID when picking up the package.
    • Parents allowed during pre-semester with identification.
  • Replace lost pickup codes
    • ID required to resend.
  • USPS tracking for problem packages
    • UPS/FedEx/DHL refer directly to the carrier.

Receiving

As a student, you may receive mail from two different locations on campus:

  • Smart Lockers at the Mail and Package Center located in Shriver Center.
    • All packages, letters that require a signature, and anything too big for your residence hall mailbox.
  • Your mailbox at your residence hall
    • All letter-size mail, newspapers, and magazines will be delivered to your residence hall mailroom.
    • Sorted into your mailbox by RAs by 8:00 p.m. Monday–Friday.

Mail and Package Addressing Policy

All package labeling must include the following:

  • Student Name (or alias as registered with the university)
  • Residence Hall Name and Room #
  • Residence Hall Street Address

If the name on the package does not match the student ID or preferred name, or residence hall address, as registered with the University it will be Returned To Sender (RTS).

Residence Hall Package Delivery Service

For a fee, students may request delivery of their packages to their residence hall rooms.

  • Per package delivery fee applies.
    • $12.50 first package and $2.50 for each additional package on the same delivery date.
    • $20.00 per package for packages weighing more than 25 pounds or requires two people for delivery.
  • Delivery requests must be made using the Package Delivery Request.

Package Receiving Policy

The Package Center will receive packages for students living on campus in University residence halls during the academic year. Due to the high volume of packages received on a daily basis, the following policy will be enforced:

  • Packages will be held for 24 hours in lockers and then moved to the Customer Service Pickup Window for an additional 48 hours.
  • After 72 hours, the packages will be Returned To Sender (RTS).
  • For special circumstances, arrangements may be approved for additional holding subject to preapproval.
  • Packages received prior to the start of the semester will begin their 72-hour hold period on the first day of classes.

Summer Session Student Mail and Packages

For those students who are attending summer school and living in university housing, mail and packages will be available for pickup at the Mail and Package Center.

Mail Forwarding

During winter break, winter term, and summer break, letter mail will be forwarded to home addresses. If you want your mail to be forwarded to an address that is different from your permanent home address, please submit the Address Change Request form.

If you stay on campus during winter break or term and want to continue to receive mail on campus, contact the Mail and Package Center to request to hold your mail. Mail will be picked up at the smart lockers at the Mail and Package Center.

Package Forwarding

Students must stop by the Mail and Package Center before leaving campus to pick up any remaining packages being held. Any items that have not been picked up by the first day of summer term will be returned to sender (RTS).

During summer term, packages received from the U.S. Postal Service will be forwarded to student’s permanent home address, along with all other U.S. mail. All other shipping companies such as FedEx, UPS, and DHL charge additional fees for forwarding packages. Packages delivered by these carriers will be refused. Contact the carriers directly to make arrangements for forwarding.
