Rating by 2015 DesignIntelligence's "America's Best Architecture and Design Schools" survey

Miami University has been ranked third best Interior Design program in the Midwest region by Design Intelligence, a bi-monthly publication for leaders in design professions. The magazine's annual report, "America's Best Architecture and Design Schools," is the only national college ranking survey that focuses exclusively on design. The report is aimed at design firms and organizations that recruit and hire recent college graduates.

John Weigand, chair of the Architecture+Interior Design department at Miami University stated, "Given that there are 45-50 ID programs in the midwest and many good programs, this is quite an achievement. The DI research methodology preferences larger and older programs with large alumni bases, so we achieved this ranking in spite of being smaller and newer. It's nice to be on this list and good recognition of all our hard work!"

Weigand has been instrumental in the program since 1995, when it was redesigned and offered as a BFA in the School of Fine Arts. The program was originally accredited by CIDA in 2002. There are currently about 70-75 students majoring in interior design at Miami.
