Farmer School PSE takes top chapter award at national convention

It’s been another great year for the Gamma Gamma chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon at the marketing and sales fraternity’s national convention in San Diego.
The Farmer School chapter won the Lewis F. Gordon Top Chapter in the Nation award for the 13th time in 21 years.
The chapter also won the Award for Sustained Excellence.
In addition, the chapter won:
Top Management Team -- This award recognizes the chapter whose leadership board has excelled in process and performance management while handling significant daily tasks, overcoming obstacles, and maintaining chapter motivation.
Top Market Research Project -- a project with the Miami University bookstore, focusing on a cosmetic merchandising strategy for
Clinique. A team of 5 implemented a new boutique style layout to the cosmetic table and introduced new strategic brands under the same parent company in order to drive foot traffic.
Top Salesperson -- senior strategic communications and journalism major Shannon O'Connor
Top Sales/Marketing Project -- A team of 6 developed product packaging for a corn buttering device, called Butter Me Up. The team utilized eye-tracking to provide insights on best practices with packaging design, allowing them to create targeted preliminary packaging and branding for the product. Done for a small startup called Midwest Cactus, this product is now in national retailers like Camping World and Jungle Jims.
1st place in Case Study Competition -- Led by VP of Finance Annie Purdum, the team showcased their ability to critically analyze a business scenario in a grueling 48 hours. Given just flip chart paper and markers, the team drew a working QR code that allowed a person to get a direct link to apply for a program online. Furthermore, they provided the best plan to solve the problem presented
to the case.
Junior marketing major Amy Auble came in second in the Top Project Manager category and the Chapter Recruitment team placed second. Sarah Foley was a finalist in the National Speakers Competition.

Chase Bettner: Geico Internship Scholarship
Blake Cortez: Debbie Khalil Scholarship
Eden Eisel: Alumni Sponsored Scholarship
Marilyn Zubak: Trenton Haack Memorial Scholarship
The top chapter award is the result of the hard work from all 156 members of the organization, as well as its two faculty co-advisors, Patrick Lindsay and Dr. Don Norris. From netting more than $30,000 in revenue to creating the first ever Miami University Sales Competition, Gamma Gamma upped the standard for the future.
