Miami Launches NEW Voices of Discovery Initiative: Miami's Center for American and World Cultures is thrilled to launch Voices of Discovery at Miami as a first step in embedding the theory and practice of Intergroup Dialogue (IGD) campus-wide. Students can enroll in this 8-week, 3 credit sprint course for spring semester which creates open dialogue around topics of intergroup relations, intellectual diversity, free speech, conflict, and community.

Study Abroad and Away: See Summer Now! It may be winter term, but most summer term study abroad and away applications are due by March 1, 2019. Share this information with your student and encourage them to schedule an appointment with a study abroad advisor to talk through options.

iPOL Recruitment: International Peer Orientation Leader  iPOLs lead and assist with orientation but instead of working domestic student orientation, they work international student orientation in August. If your student is interested in this leadership opportunity, they should apply by February 10, 2019.

Global and Intercultural Education Co-Curricular Compass: Students are invited to attend our upcoming forum event, Worldwide stories of interconnected lives | "Where I'm from" becomes "Where I go", which is part of the Global and Intercultural Education Co-Curricular Compass Series. At this event, students will be asked to share their study abroad or international educational story, reflecting on how their cross-cultural journey and intercultural connections influence them in developing a sense of belonging, place and community. This opportunity serves as a great opportunity for reflection, networking, and resume building. Registration will be open until February 5, 2019 or until 40 seats are secured.
