Dr. Scott Campbell receives 2020 CEC Outstanding Service award
Dr. Campbell, Senior Director of Technology and instructor, was selected for his hard work and dedication to both CEC and the university as a whole. Over his past two decades at Miami, he has gone above and beyond in his position and his efforts to improve the IT department in CEC.

Psychology department houses new center to support and advocate for children and families of the incarcerated
Two psychology faculty have received funding to move forward with their department's new Center for the Study and Support of Children and Families of the Incarcerated (CSSCFI), which will conduct research on children with parents in prison and advocate for the needs of children of incarcerated parents and their caregivers.

Why Discussing Controversial Issues is Part of Educating Engaged Democratic Citizens
Controversial issues can be difficult to discuss, especially when they concern moral and ethical matters related to race, injustice, and personal freedom. However, Thomas Misco, a Miami University professor of social studies education, argues that teaching about and engaging in such conversations is critical for any democratic society.
