The provost provided the link to updates regarding the Coronavirus and instructional primer for faculty to be prepared to teach off-campus during emergencies, etc. Also included were updates about the University budget, Dean Searches, Boldly Creative and University Senate, information at the National Civil Rights Conference to be held on Miami's campus and a link to the nomination form for the PSAAA student awards, and reminders about the academic calendar, holding classes as scheduled, Faculty Assembly meeting, and the dates for spring break, finals week, commencement, Undergraduate Research Forum, University Awards Event and religious holidays, among other items.

Craig Williamson's OPUS grant will provide new insights on effects of browning in lakes worldwide
Lakes worldwide, including Lake Lacawac (above), are threatened with decreasing water clarity, due in part to increased dissolved organic matter inputs such as from decomposing oak leaves (above). Craig Williamson's long-term and in-depth research on lake water transparency has been recognized with an NSF OPUS grant.
