Miami University Distinguished Professor of Music, Michele Gingras, is soon to launch the second edition of her book, entitled Clarinet Secrets: 100 Performance Strategies for the Advanced Clarinetist. Published by Scarecrow Press, the release date will occur in February, 2017. Gingras is excited because the first edition of her book inspired the publishing company to create a “Secrets” series involving different instruments.

Gingras was named the Hays Crossen Curry Distinguished Educator in 2002 and the Distinguished Scholar of the Graduate School in 2005 at Miami. She performed and taught masterclasses worldwide, released over a dozen CDs, wrote 200 articles and reviews for numerous international publications, and authored two previous books: Clarinet Secrets and More Clarinet Secrets (Scarecrow Press). She performed with the Cincinnati Klezmer Project for 20 years and concertizes with Duo2go and Miami3 throughout the US. Michele is Past-Secretary of the International Clarinet Association and is an Artist Clinician for Buffet Crampon and Légère Reeds.
