Professor Frank Huang Releases Debut Album

Frank Huang AlbumMiami University assistant professor of piano, Frank Huang, has released a commercial disc of his solo debut album on April 7, 2017. "Johannes Brahms: Selected Piano Music" was recorded under Centaur Records, one of the oldest and largest independent classical labels in America. The disc features 25 tracks and can be purchased through a variety of distributors, including Amazon and Centaur records. A digital download can be purchased through iTunes.

Huang’s performances have been described as “brilliant and inventive…with charm, wit and emotional sensitivity.” (Jerry Dubins, Fanfare magazine).

"One of my all-time favorite composers is Johannes Brahms, and it was fitting that my debut album would be a collection of works by him," says Huang. "Through my selection of pieces, I wanted to give listeners an idea of the composer's transformation in writing style, from his early to later years," continues Huang.

The disc was recorded in Chicago's classical recording station, WFMT, over the course of a few days in Dec. 2013 and August 2014.

Huang began teaching at Miami in August of 2013.
