Get Ready for E+C Week Competitions!

2016 Battle of the Brains Competition WinnersBattle of the Brains 2016 Winning Teams Two competitions are going to be held during E&C Week, “Can You Code Better than a 5th Grader?” and “Battle of the Brains.”

“Can You Code Better than a 5th Grader?” is on Tuesday, April 4, from 7-9PM in Benton 115. The event is being held by Kode2Learn and Girls Who Code, and will be featuring responses from actual 3rd to 8th grade students to compare against. Contestants will be organized into teams after they arrive at the competition. The format will be similar to that of the “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?” game show. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams. There is no fee to participate.

The second annual “Battle of the Brains” will be held by Engineers Without Borders from 8-10 PM in EGB 270 on Thursday, April 6. The cost is $5 per person to participate, and registration and payment can either be done at the E&C Week table in the Benton Lobby or at the door when you arrive at the competition. All majors are encouraged to participate in teams of 4 to 6. Teams will earn points by answering technical questions and doing hands-on mini-competitions.

Both of these events are fun ways to engage with the CEC community, and we hope to see you there! For more information on Engineering and Computing Week Events, please go to this article.
