Miami students want to help engineer solutions that will help communities around the world, and that is what Vilppu Anttila, Scott Gscheidle, Kelly Hill, Makayla Sprague, Noah Kerns, Pierce Tyrell, Sam Wolanski, and Andrew Napora did. They created a safe, efficient method to process bamboo, which Jeong-Hoi Koo, associate professor in the mechanical and manufacturing department, plans to implement in rural Nepalese communities.
