Scholar-in-Residence speaker on Sept. 28
B.L. Ramakrishna will speak
on September 28th
The Director of the Grand Challenges Scholars Program Network, B.L. Ramakrishna, is coming to Miami University to discuss the challenges facing engineers in the 21st century.
Ramakrishna will be the first annual speaker for the Socially Engaged Engineering & Computing Scholar-in-Residence Colloquium.
Ramakrishna was an engineering faculty member at Arizona State University from 1985 to 2016, after which he joined the National Academy of Engineering. As the Director of the Grand Challenges Scholars Program Network, he aims to inspire the next generation of engineers to take on the biggest upcoming challenges in engineering.
His lecture “Perspectives on the Grand Challenges for Engineering and Humanitarian Engineering” will be open to all members of the Miami community and the public. It will be given at 4:30pm on Thursday, September 28th in Kreger 319. A reception will follow.
