IEEE scholarships awarded to Miami students

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the largest professional technical association in the world, has awarded two Miami University students scholarships based on their merit and passion for electrical engineering.

Jack Knoll won the IEEE Power and Energy Scholarship, and Justin Demus won the $1,000 IEEE Cincinnati Section Scholarship.

Demus is a sophomore Electrical Engineering major from Boulder, Colorado. He has always been passionate about science and decided to become an electrical engineer because he was drawn to the things you “can’t see”, such as electricity and power.

Three students have also recently received awards from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Departments for their accomplishments:

  • ECE Early Career Award: Ross Cortino
  • ECE Academic Achievement Award: Luke Pitstick
  • ECE Outstanding Service Award: Adam Gaynor

Congratulations to all five of these talented electrical engineering majors!
