Student is awarded Donald N. Nelson Consortium Scholarship

Not only do our students learn within our classroom, but around the world. Miami prides itself on the study abroad programs that it offers our students. These programs allows our students to learn more about other cultures, while continuing towards their degree.

Students are able to study abroad during their four years at Miami. In addition to this opportunity, students are eligible to apply for grants and scholarships that can allow them to be able to have this experience.

One of our CEC students was able to receive a prestigious scholarship to help with her study abroad. Lexie Adams, a Pre-Med and Chemical Engineering major, was recognized with the Donald N. Nelson Consortium Scholarship.

This scholarship is granted to any full-time, degree seeking undergraduate that is an Ohio resident. To qualify you must be at least a sophomore with a 3.0 GPA, and must complete a follow-up project at the home institution the semester after their study abroad program. For her service project, Adams is working with CEC to host a study abroad panel to answer students questions about studying abroad.

Adams is applying the scholarship to help pay for the cost of her program to Madrid, Spain. She hopes that through this program she is able to see many parts of Europe and experience much of the Spanish culture.

Adams is exited to be able to combine her love for the Spanish language with engineering. To learn more about this scholarship, visit the scholarship website.
