Coronavirus (COVID-19)

As students move into the residence halls, a sign reads "Welcome to the Family."

Return to Campus

Fall semester 2020 began Monday, Aug. 17. Undergraduate classes on the Oxford and Regional campuses are online/remote until at least Sept. 21.

Campus Status - Fall 2020

Buildings on all of Miami’s campuses are open and faculty and staff have begun to return to campus to work. Buildings around campus have signage to direct people where to enter and depart; it is important to note the specific protocols for each individual building.

All faculty, staff, students, and visitors are required to wear a facial covering at all times including while inside any campus building and outside while on campus property or on a bus. They must also be worn at all university events (athletic events, concerts).

University facilities and operations have the right to refuse entry and services to those who do not wear face coverings.

Faculty, staff, and students are expected and visitors are strongly encouraged to perform a basic symptom assessment before coming to campus and may not come to campus if they are ill, have COVID-19 symptoms, or have a temperature over 100.4 F.

Classrooms, breakrooms, bathrooms, and public spaces are being cleaned and disinfected daily, and stations for hand sanitizers are positioned all around our buildings. Residence halls have their own cleaning protocols with increased cleaning in high-touch and common areas.

As part of the phased-in approach to the start of fall semester, our students selected from one of three options for their academic delivery. Our faculty have prepared a variety of formats for learning that enable students to make progress toward graduation and give opportunities for deep and engaged learning. Move-in for our on-campus student residents begins the week of September 14
