Dining On Campus

All protocols established by the state of Ohio, the Ohio Department of Health, and the CDC are being enacted within all areas of food and beverage on campus. 

  • Food & Beverage locations will follow all Centers for Disease Control protocol throughout all locations. Sanitation stations will be available for customer self-use in addition to the staff disinfecting protocol.
  • Physical distancing customer lines and walkways will be displayed in every location per the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Health and through the assistance of Miami's department of Planning, Architecture, and Engineering. 
  • Floor vinyl graphics installed in every location for customer flow, where to stand, and ordering/pick up locations.
  • Dining in tables and chairs will be reduced to follow the CDC protocol. Seating will be limited and clearly marked accordingly to the customers. 
  • Wellness Ambassadors will be available for additional assistance, customer education, and cleaning in the dining areas. 
  • All staff will wear face masks, gloves and will self-monitor temperatures daily. In addition to a facemask, cashiers will wear a face shield.
  • No personal use beverage cups will be refilled in any dining location. 
  • Dining Commons locations will be staff-served into compostable containers and beverages will be staff-served. Customers are welcome to choose from the same variety as in a self-serve operation.
  • Allergen-free stations will continue to be in operation.
  • Meetings with the Director of Sustainability have been arranged to maximize the efficiency of all compostable products.
  • Select Market locations will offer pre-packaged meals available for one buffet swipe. This is new and has been created to offer an additional option within the meal plans.
  • The introduction of a new GET mobile online ordering and pick up system will be available for select a la carte locations using declining dollars or credit cards.
  • All Dining Commons, Markets & Al-a-Carte locations will be moving to a cashless payment system. Also included will be vending and concessions.
  • The Ohio Health inspector will be invited to campus prior to the start of the Fall semester for compliance and to provide any additional suggestions.
