DocuSign Request Scam

The Information Security Office has received reports that some Miami staff have been receiving a new phishing message through the application DocuSign.

With this scam, an email is sent noting that there is a document available for review, with a box within the email that includes a "Review Document" button. If you receive this email or a similar one and you are not expecting a document to review, please be extremely cautious before responding or clicking on any links within. You can then delete the message and disregard it. For more information, you can read our article here.

Remember that if you receive a message that you suspect to be phishing, please forward it to InfoSec@MiamiOH.edu. This will allow the information and security team to block sites that may be associated with phishing attacks.

Fall Orientation IT Update!

Speaking of orientation, here is a quick recap of how things are going so far! We have had an amazing turn out this year at both the resource fair and parent presentations. As of now, we have had a record-breaking 62 people in one session! It has been so great to meet parents and students and answer their questions, making their transition to Miami a little easier as we go. We love seeing everyone and addressing all their concerns whether it is technology help, computer recommendations, or you just want to stop by and see what we at IT are all about. Remember, you can always visit MiamiOH.edu/ITOrientation for more information or stop by our table at the resource fair. Keep an eye out for an article in the near future giving the full orientation recap!
