Jan W. Lyddon has worked in public policy and higher education throughout her career, including heading Institutional Research and Effectiveness offices at universities and community colleges in Michigan, Texas, and Indiana. Jan’s early career included work for the Michigan Legislature as a higher education analyst, and later, as Chief Research and Information Officer for the higher education coordinating board in Connecticut. She currently serves as a coach with Achieving the Dream, a national community college reform network focused on improving student success. She has coached several community colleges and tribal colleges in the US, and five universities in Siyaphumelela, a parallel network in South Africa. Jan holds degrees from Iowa State University (BS), Michigan State University (MA), Western Michigan University (MPA), and the University of Michigan (Ph.D.).

Michael has been a part of Miami’s Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness since August 2017 serving as Data Analyst and Senior Data Analyst, before becoming Associate Director in March 2022. At Miami, he leads the reporting to federal and state agencies (including IPEDS and HEI), serves on data-related committees, oversees data collection and analysis of institutional surveys and assessments, provides institutional data for college guidebooks, and fulfills ad hoc requests from various offices across the University. He is a member of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), North East Association for Institutional Research (NEAIR), and the Ohio Association for Institutional Research and Planning (OAIRP).

Before coming to Miami, Michael was an Institutional Research Analysis Specialist at Clark State Community College. Prior to these positions, Michael earned his Master’s in Sociology and a graduate certificate in Institutional Research from Ball State University and his Bachelor’s in Sociology from Indiana Wesleyan University.
