TEAM’S FIRST MAC CHAMPIONSHIP SINCE 2010 FUELS CONFIDENCE

Excellence on and off the field marked 2020 for Miami football. The program’s first Mid-American Conference championship since 2010. A place in the LendingTree Bowl. Stellar results in the classroom. Record engagement in the community - including a program to record children’s books online in partnership with local schools. Coach Chuck Martin said those successes feed each other.

“Confidence grows when you have success and you do good things,” Martin said. “I’m very proud of our student-athletes. If you do good things, you’ll have success and your confidence is going to grow. Watching these student-athletes grow as people definitely translates to success on the field.”

Jack Sorenson, a senior wide receiver from Kildeer, Illinois, said the book project was just one of many football activities that help build team unity and connect the team to its fans.

“For me, we’re so privileged to be put in a position to do what we love to do,” Sorenson said. “The support that this community shows really helps and motivates us. It also helps with your mindset.”
