CMR 281 - Digital Media & Organizational Communication

Practical hands-on experience for learning fundamentals of the current tools and technologies used to produce written, audio, and visual business communication resources. Students will practice content marketing by creating blogs, videos, and podcasts. They learn how to identify key target audiences, ideal delivery methods, and platforms for content marketing to meet business goals.

CMR 286 - Digital Commerce

This course focuses on the tools and practices used to engage in digital commerce, including an introduction to online business models, online security and privacy, website planning, introductory site design, and administration. Students will apply what they learn to build an e-commerce website for their portfolio using the same web development and administration tools popular with digital marketing experts in the field.

CMR 341 - Internet Marketing

This course explores internet marketing topics including the development and evaluation of online marketing strategies, the use of internet marketing tools, and customer service and relationship management practices. Regulatory and ethical issues are also covered. The course is regularly updated to address current events and trends.

How do I pay for my Microcredential?

Can my employer pay for my Microcredential?

Yes! U.S. employers can write off up to $5,250 per employee per year for tuition expenses incurred by an employee. Ohio Employers can take advantage of up to $2,000 of TechCred funding for this Microcredential. If you have specific questions, please reach out to us at microcredential@miamioh.edu.

We also created letter templates to help you explain the value of a Microcredential to your employer – simply download the letter for the program you are interested in, fill in the highlighted fields with your information, and pass it along to your supervisor or HR professional.

Financial Assistance

Microcredentials alone are not eligible for financial assistance through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Degree-seeking students may integrate the Microcredential into their existing plan of study to utilize federal financial aid.
