Teaching Interests
I teach a variety of psychology courses including introduction to Psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, educational psychology, gender psychology, psychological methods, cultural psychology, etc. My teaching philosophy is that everyone can enjoy learning. We have seen lots of students struggling and feeling anxious about learning. As an instructor, I care about my students' mental health, and I strive to help students find effective strategies to regulate emotions they experience in academics. I always tell my students that learning shouldn't be painful, and once you taste the beauty of it, you will be a lifelong learner!
Research Interests
Aligning with my teaching philosophy, I am interested in student learning motivation, more especially, student emotional regulation in learning. My most recent research is to investigate the effect of college students' cultural values on their emotional regulation in test-taking. I plan to dig deeper into the emotional regulation strategies that can facilitate student test performance in future research.
