Resident Director/First Year Adviser

The Resident Director/First Year Adviser is a live-in master's degree-level professional who is responsible for the operation of one residence hall, housing between 140 and 450 students. This full-time professional serves as both the hall director and the academic adviser to first year students. The Resident Director/First Year Adviser is charged with shaping the environment and experiences of first year students by providing services and programs focusing on the Office of Residence Life's Residential Curriculum. This encompasses learning outcomes of academic success, effective community engagement, intrapersonal development and cultural competency. This position reports to an Assistant Director of Residence Life. Depending on the size of the residence hall, some Resident Director/First Year Advisers supervise a graduate student who serves as an Assistant Resident Director/First Year Adviser.

Assistant Director of Residence Life

The Assistant Director is a full-time master's-level professional who serves as a central staff member for the Office of Residence Life. In addition to providing guidance, direction, and support for the overall mission, vision, and goals of the residential program at Miami University, this person is responsible for the supervision of 6-12 live-in staff members. Like all members of the Office of Residence Life, the Assistant Director is charged with shaping the environment and experiences of students by providing services and programs related to the Office of Residence Life's Residential Curriculum, which focuses on learning outcomes connected to academic success, effective community engagement, intrapersonal development and cultural competency of our residents.

Assistant Director of Residence Life for Academic Advising and Living Learning Communities

The Assistant Director is a master's-level professional who serves as a central staff member for the Office of Residence Life. In addition to providing guidance, direction, and support for the overall mission, vision, and goals of the residential program at Miami University, this person is responsible for supporting First Year Academic Advising and Living Learning Community initiatives in the office. Like all members of the Office of Residence Life, the Assistant Director is charged with shaping the environment and experiences of students by providing services and programs related to the Office of Residence Life's Residential Curriculum, which focuses on learning outcomes connected to academic success, effective community engagement, intrapersonal development and cultural competency of our residents.
