Web Communications

Miami's website plays a key role in the development and projection of the University's image and in the delivery of its key messages. The Marketing and Creative Services Department's web team manages web services and web training for the campus community.

We are currently undergoing a campus-wide rollout of a new implementation of the Cascade Server CMS.

Preparing To Move your Site

If your office or department has not been scheduled to migrate, then you can use the tips in this section to start getting ready. It is important to review your existing site to make sure all information is current. Make sure you know where to find the assets (images, documents) and who will be responsible for keeping your new site updated. Review PDFs that you have on your site and determine if they can be eliminated, converted to a web form, or changed to an HTML page.

Web Guides and Reference Materials

Make sure you are following Miami's branding and style guidelines. Learn more about writing for the web, appropriate image sizes, and making your site accessible.

Managing Your Website

This section offers all of the step-by-step instructions to editing your web pages, creating widgets, and adding other features to your pages. You can also view sample pages and widgets to get ideas. This is intended to help those that have already been to training.

Cascade Training Sessions

If you have already been through initial training, you can sign up to attend a scheduled work session. This is a great way to block out time to work on your site with web team staff available to answer questions and offer solutions. We are happy to work with you to get your site ready for launch. You will also sign up here for initial training after your department or office has been invited.
