New $1.9M NSF grant will help teachers stimulate students' imaginations to improve learning of chemistry
Sequence of the dynamic visualization approach to teaching chemistry using VisChem and storyboarding for understanding .With a new $1.9 million grant from the National Science Foundation, Miami University’s Ellen Yezierski aims to help high school chemistry teachers prepare students to become more scientifically literate.

Dr. Ellen Yezierski Awarded $1.9M NSF Grant
Ellen Yezierski, Professor of Chemistry, was recently awarded a 5-year, $1.9M NSF DRK-12 grant. The project aims to improve our knowledge of the ways in which conceptual understanding in high school chemistry is afforded and constrained by teachers’ use of dynamic, molecular-level visualizations.
