After 20 years in the Air Force, 10 different deployments, and innumerable boot prints all across the Middle East, Mike Balsley was about to retire from the military. During his last deployment, he was over 7,000 miles and nine time zones away when he received a call that would crystalize his next plan to pursue social work at Miami University

Senate News, March 8, 2021
Senators heard from Jaime Hunt, the newly appointed Vice President of UCM. An update from the Benefits Committee was given by the Chair, John Bowblis. Senators discussed two proposals from the Graduate School. Finally, Senator Tracy Haynes, Senate Liaison for the Council of Undergraduate Curriculum presented an overview of the curriculum approval process for new majors and degrees.
