The practice of socially engaged art (SEA) is gaining momentum in the field of sculpture, and students in Rod Northcutt's service learning sculpture classes are working to further its spread.

Afro-Cuban Art
Juan Carlos L. Albarran, Lecturer, Latin American, Latino/a, and Caribbean Studies, Global and Intercultural Studies Department, College of Arts & Sciences This talk will focus on the role of Afro-Cuban art at different historical moments in Cuban society, where Afro-Cuban contributions have played a major role in Cuba, at the same time the Afro-Cuban population has remained marginalized from major economic, social, and political changes taking place in the island.
