Banner 9 Self Service modules replacing BannerWeb

by Randy Hollowell, IT Services

BannerWeb is going away! Eventually.

As has been noted in previous announcements, Miami is in the process of transitioning from Banner 8 to Banner 9, and the next part of that process will be the retirement of BannerWeb which will be replaced with Banner 9 Self Service (SSB9). There are multiple individual modules for Self Service Banner 9 that have already gone live into production, along with some additional ones that are still in progress. The next step is for you to start using these new modules on a daily basis.

The modules that are currently available to use include the following (with a link to the actual tool):

There are also a number of modules that are scheduled for future release. These include:

  • Student Registration: November 21
  • Student Accounts Receivable: November 21 (will align with Student Registration)
  • Employee Benefits Open Enrollment: October 2023
  • Finance BDM integration: TBD

Users who anticipate or experience a disability-related barrier to using the SSB9 functionality may access their information via the BannerWeb links. Miami and Ellucian, the parent company for Banner, are continuing to work together to make all of the modules accessible.

It is the goal of the project team to have BannerWeb completely transitioned to SSB9 by the end of December 2022.

If you would like to keep track of the comings and goings of the Banner 9 Self Service modules, please check out the Banner 9 blog. Here you will find information related to all things Banner 9.
