Alexis has a focused background in maternal-newborn health, working in high-risk antepartum nursing since 2012.

Service
Alexis serves with community and other health partners through LIVE-BC (Leading Infant Vitality Equitably), working to decrease the infant mortality rate in Butler County, and promote health to all families in our community.
As simulation champion within the Department of Nursing, Alexis has collaborated with Fort Hamilton Hospital’s Birthing Unit to provide education and competency assessments through simulation to bedside nurses, promoting health, well-being, and safety of mothers and infants.
Research
Alexis’ research interests focus on simulation as a teaching strategy within nursing education. She is currently implementing Hybrid-Clinical courses, and examining student performance and learning objective achievement through the integration of high-fidelity simulation within specialty nursing courses.
