Miami University Excellence

In Nursing Programs

Accreditation by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education acknowledges the outstanding quality in Miami's BSN program. Job placement and employers' evaluations of nursing graduates are excellent. Miami nursing graduates also have a high pass rate on the state licensure examination.

The MSN program at Miami University is pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted. Accreditation visit is planned for Fall 2023.

In Faculty

The nursing faculty are highly qualified both academically and clinically. All nursing faculty hold either master of science or doctoral degrees. Faculty enhance their teaching effectiveness by maintaining clinical practice, attending educational seminars, and presenting their scholarly work and research. In Resources

The Nursing Resource Centers (NRCs) are staffed by Master's prepared directors and student employees.  The Centers are sites for learning essential nursing skills using low-fidelity manikins, audiovisual materials and other medical equipment.  The Centers also have high-fidelity simulation manikins which are used in nursing theory courses to add greater depth to student learning by simulating patient experiences.
