Dominik KonkolewiczDominik Konkolewicz had a great first half of 2018. Dominik was selected as a 2018 PMSE Young Investigator. This distinction honors young researchers who have made significant contributions to their respective fields within Polymer Science and Engineering. As part of this award, Dominik will present his work in the PMSE Young Investigator Symposium at the Fall 2018 ACS National Meeting in Boston (August 19-23, 2018). Dominik was also highlighted in the CAS Newsletter in January 2018 (http://miamioh.edu/cas/about/news/2017/11/recognition.html). Dominik was also awarded an NSF CAREER award, and a great article in the OARS February 2018 Newsletter (https://miamiohoars.wordpress.com/2018/02/08/konkolewicz-career/). Lastly, Dominik was awarded the 2018 Miami University Junior Faculty Distinguished Scholar award. Ann Hagerman and Carrie FurnishAnn Hagerman was named as the 2018 Chemist of the Year by the Cincinnati Section of the ACS. Ann presented an outstanding talk entitled, “Plant polyphenols: Structure-function diversity from the natural world (see below). Ann joins a number of Miami faculty who have won this award, including Gil Gordon, Mickey Sarquis, Jim Cox, Mike Novak, and Stacey Lowery Bretz.

Rick Page was recently promoted and tenured by the Miami University Board of Trustees at their February 2018 meeting (http://miamioh.edu/news/campus-news/2018/02/promotion-tenure-2018.html). His appointment starts on July 1st.

Scott Hartley was named as the 2018-21 Volwiler Distinguished Research Professor in Chemistry. This endowed position is supported by a generous gift from Dr. Ernest H. Volwiler (Class of 1914).
