My main areas of interest are meta-ethics and (meta)metaphysics--specifically non-descriptive approaches to both. My current research involves developing a broadly inferential alternative to expressivism in meta-ethics. I argue that such an approach can account for moral objectivity and moral reasoning—not by explaining these in terms of moral properties or facts waiting to be described by our moral claims, but instead by emphasizing the function of moral discourse, in particular the coordinating role it plays in our social lives.
