February 2016: Professor Byran Smucker has been tenured and promoted to associate professor.

August 2015: The department welcomes two new assistant professors, Tatjana Miljkovic and Karsten Maurer. Tatjana strengthens our actuarial science program, and Karsten provides expertise in statistics education and data visualization.

August 2015: Professor Steve Wright has taken a new position as Associate Dean of the College of Art & Science at Miami.

July 2015: Professor Jing Zhang has been tenured and promoted to Associate Professor.

July 2015: Professor Robert Davis' calculations of the probability of Tiger Woods eclipsing Jack Nicklaus' record for major tournament victories were reported on Fox Sports.

May 2015: Professor Byran Smucker, along with former graduate student Xinping Zhang and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Jay Woffington, developed a predictive model for the theater. This work is featured in the Cincinnati Business Courier and in Chance. The app is also accessible.
