Mark Lacker

Mark Lacker is the John W. Altman Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship in the Miami University Institute for Entrepreneurship. In that role, he is responsible for the Institute's Startup Entrepreneurship courses, co-curricular programming and internship initiatives.

He has developed or redesigned seven courses and taught a total of twelve different courses in the program. Lacker has been nominated for 12 teaching awards in four categories, receiving the Miami University Effective Educator Award in 2016 and Richard K. Smucker Award for Outstanding Clinical Faculty in 2012.

He has 20 years of entrepreneurial experience and has been involved in three startup organizations. As the founder and president of Sumner Solutions he built a corporate event marketing company that was involved in more than 1500 corporate events.

Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Management from Miami University and an MBA from Xavier University with a concentration in Management Information Systems. He has served on the advisory board of two startups, and as judge for the Cincinnati Business Courier Innovation Awards.
