Biography

Wayne Speer has held executive positions in both private and public Fortune 500 companies. He brings domestic and international experience in a wide range of industries including Consumer Package Goods (Noxell, Pentel, Jergens/Kao Brands) and Building Products (NuTone/Broan Ltd, Clopay). He has led the strategic repositioning and organizational restructuring of companies and business units for Williams Holdings PLC and Sencorp LLC. His business background includes expertise in marketing, product development, finance and sales.

A serial entrepreneur, in 1999 Speer launched NuVent Inc., a manufacturer of building products sold throughout North America. The company was sold in 2003 to a building products holding group, where he managed the transfer of production and the integration of NuVent into the company.

Since then, he has been active in consulting, developing and managing a number of new business start-ups through Speer & Associates LLC, a 25 year-old Cincinnati company, that provides professional consulting for clients in the areas of new business creation, adjacency strategies, and start-ups.

As an advocate of Disruptive Innovation, Speer is one of two External Entrepreneurs working with Procter & Gamble. In this capacity, he engages with senior leaders in the New Business Creation Groups identifying and developing high potential market opportunities. Wayne serves as a catalyst within the project teams to broaden and scale their opportunities into multi-product, million dollar brands. In addition, he provides entrepreneurial insights into creating new business models, new value networks and capability development. Recently, he helped co-create and operate an external, independent beauty device business.
