Legal Notice of Civil Service

To establish an eligibility list for the classification of POLICE RECORDS SUPERVISOR, an open, non-competitive Civil Service recruitment effort is underway. This is difficult administrative, clerical and technical supervisory work involving the management of the record-keeping activities of the City’s Police Department. The work is performed under the general direction and supervision of the Administrative Captain and Police Chief.

The Police Records Supervisor serves as the administrator for the computerized records management system (Tritech) and is responsible for security settings, data management, and other administrative duties. As the administrator of the software system, the supervisor is responsible for training records clerks on the system and conducting ongoing and remedial training for officers. The supervisor manages a staff of four records clerks, makes work assignments, and ensures online availability of accident reports. In the absence of the Police Chief’s secretary, the supervisor serves in a relief capacity, which involves payroll processing and other administrative tasks.

Basic qualification for Corrections Officer are:

  • Be of high moral character.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • No felony convictions or Domestic Violence convictions.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire, and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license
  • have a high school or equivalent graduate
  • Have no tattoos and/or brandings that would be visible while wearing a standard short sleeve sheriff’s office uniform; these include tattoos or brandings on the head, neck, hands or exposed arms.
  • Must not have any history of illegal sales of drugs, including marijuana and prescription drugs and/or any pattern of illegal drug use or current and untreated abuse of alcohol, chemical agents, solvent based substances or prescription drugs.
  • Must not have used marijuana in the past five (5) years.
