Sierra Hull Coming to Miami Hamilton's Parrish Auditorium

Sierra Hull sitting on the ground with her guitar and a horse in the backgroundSierra Hull, bluegrass singer, mandolinist, guitarist and songwriter will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 18 at Parrish Auditorium on Miami University Regionals' Hamilton campus.

Hull began playing the mandolin at the age of eight and self-released her first album Angel Mountain at the age of 10. At the age of thirteen she signed with Rounder Records, and soon became known as a remarkable mandolin player, a tone-true vocalist, and a recording artist of high order. Her recent album Weighted Mind produced by Bela Fleck was nominated for Best Folk Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards. In 2016 when Hull was named International Bluegrass Music Awards Mandolin Player of the Year, she was the first woman in the show's history to earn the honor. Hull again won the honor in 2017. She received the Bluegrass Star Award, presented by the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation in 2013. Hull has played at the White House, and Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center, and she was the first bluegrass musician to receive a Presidential Scholarship at the Berklee College of Music.

Seats are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors and Miami faculty/staff and $16 for Miami students and children under 12.

The next Artist Series performance at Miami Middletown's Dave Finkelman Auditorium include The Texas Troubadours featuring Ruthie Foster, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Carrie Rodriguez on March 3.
