Dear Miami Community,

The Campus Services team has been serving students on campus throughout the past several months while navigating the challenges of COVID 19. Providing a healthy and safe experience for our students, faculty, staff and Miami visitors has been our goal. Through the guidance of Governor Mike DeWine, The Ohio Department of Health and the CDC, several protocols have been implemented and will continue to be established as we move through the fall semester. All Miami Food & Beverage locations will follow CDC protocol throughout all locations. Locations include all Commons, A-la-Carte, Markets, Catering, Concessions and Vending operations. The Ohio Health inspector will be invited to campus prior to the start of fall semester to ensure we are in compliance and to provide any additional suggestions.

The following food and beverage changes are being implemented to promote a healthy and safe dining experience on campus.

Sanitation stations will be available for customer self-use in addition to the employee disinfecting protocol. Wellness Ambassadors will be available for additional assistance and cleaning in the dining areas. All staff will wear face masks, gloves and will self-monitor their temperatures daily. In addition to a face mask, cashiers will wear a face shield.

To promote physical distancing, customer lines and walkways will be outlined in every location per the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Health and will include the assistance of Miami's department of Planning, Architecture and Engineering. Additionally, dining at tables and chairs will be reduced to follow CDC protocol.  Seating will therefore be limited.

Food and beverages at the Dining Commons locations will be served by staff and will be provided in compostable containers. Select Market locations will offer pre-packaged meals available for one buffet swipe.  Several A la Carte locations will offer GET mobile online ordering and pick up using declining dollars or credit cards. Reusable beverage cups will not be permitted for refills in any dining location.

Beginning July 1st, Miami will be transitioning to become a Cashless campus. This will include all food and beverage operations. Miami ID’s, Virtual Wallet, credit and debit card payments will be accepted.

Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility as we work together for a safe and healthy start to the semester.
