Mallory-Wilson Center Awards presented to Miami senior Reeti Pal and sociologist Jennifer Bulanda
The Mallory-Wilson Center for Healthcare Education is proud to present Miami senior Reeti Pal with the 2017 Ken and Joan Frankel Outstanding Premedical Student Award and Miami Sociology professor Dr. Jennifer Bulanda with the Mallory-Wilson Center Faculty/Staff Recognition Award. Reeti will be honored at a ceremony on May 12, while Dr. Bulanda received her award from Miami's seniors at the Graduating Prehealth Student Reception on April 20th

Kate de Medeiros, associate professor of sociology and gerontology and the Robert H. and Nancy J. Blayney Professor of Gerontology, has been named Educator of the Year by the Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education (OAGE).

Miami's Scripps Gerontology Center Awarded $1.4 Million Grant
Miami University's Scripps Gerontology Center is the recipient of a $1.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The money will be used to understand the factors that support older learners in their ability to complete training and education programs.

What Did the Nursing Home Satisfaction Survey Tell Us?
"In a statewide survey released last week, nursing homes and assisted-living facilities in our nine-county region fared well. More than half scored above the state average in a resident satisfaction survey that drew on the feedback of nearly 50,000 seniors."

Miami Faculty Receives Top Honor
Miami University's Dr. Suzanne R. Kunkel received the 2015 Clark Tibbitts Award for her outstanding contributions to the advancement of gerontology as a field of study. Dr. Kunkel received the award from the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education.
