M.A. in German Philology (minor in Spanish and English) Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster 1985, Ph.D. German Studies, University of Chicago 1990; Miami University 1992. Director: Liberal Education, Millikin University 2001-03; Associate Director: Liberal Education, Miami University, 2007-09; Interim Director, University Studies Program, Miami University, 2010-11.
