Oluchi Nwokocha
Oluchi is an actor, writer and director. She earned her Bachelor’s in Arts in Theatre with a minor in African-American Studies from San Jose State University. After graduating from SJSU, she was hired as an Outreach and Education Associate at the San Jose Repertory Theatre. She then went on to the University of Florida where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Acting. While at UF, she studied and perfected her teaching pedagogy in Stanislavski, Chekhov, Alexander Technique, and Lessac for Voice and Speech. She also worked for the New York Film Academy’s Orlando chapter teaching acting for the camera to middle and high school students. Upon graduating, she moved to New York City to fully immerse herself in the acting world. While there she worked as a House Manager with Second Stage an Off-Broadway theatre Company. She is a proud company member of Red Ladder Theatre Company where she teaches improv to incarcerated men and women.
Oluchi is a recent transplant from the Bay Area. As an actor and director in the Bay Area she most recently appeared in Under Milk Wood at The Pear Theatre, The Claim at Shotgun Players, Lady Scribblers at Custom Made Theatre, and bevy of virtual play readings and workshops during the pandemic. Her directorial debut was Alone Together, a series of short plays and monologues about the pandemic performed at the Hammer Theatre at San Jose State University.
Oluchi began her journey at Miami University in the fall of 2021, and teaches courses in performance.
