Biography
Wallis Vore is a prominent freelance musician in Dayton, Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky, and performs regularly with The Dayton Philharmonic and The Springfield Symphony. Proficient on auxiliary instruments, she is often called upon to play E-flat and bass clarinet.
Formerly an Artist-in-Residence and the Woodwind Coordinator at the Bay View Music Festival in Petoskey, Michigan, she currently spends her summers playing clarinet and bass clarinet at the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre.
Dedicated to education, in addition to her collegiate responsibilities, she maintains a full private studio throughout Southern Ohio. Her students perform regularly and often hold high chairs in Ohio All-State ensembles, the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, and the Springfield Symphony Youth Orchestra. She also directs the clarinet ensemble and woodwind quintet affiliated with the Tri-State Ensembles organization.
Vore earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts with a cognate in Arts Administration, and Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and her Bachelor of Music degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her principal teachers include Richie Hawley, Ron Aufmann, Steve Cohen, Ron deKant, and Dr. Charles West.
