Kate has a wide array of interests, but her passion for equity in education has never wavered. As an undergraduate student at Miami University, Kate took courses in Sociocultural Studies in Education and the Psychology of the Exceptional Learner to develop a better understanding of how to improve the classroom experience and generate more successful student outcomes. During her time at Miami, she also worked with high school students as an afterschool tutor and gained valuable research experience in the Learning, Memory, and Emotion Lab studying the behavioral neuroscience of fear learning. Kate graduated from Miami University in 2023 with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Educational Psychology and Learning Analytics. Throughout her career, she hopes to pursue projects that help eliminate racial disparities in education and improve students’ academic achievement. In her current role at the Discovery Center, Kate assists with various evaluation projects as well as marketing and communications tasks.
