Vrinda Kalia, Department of Psychology. My primary research interest is studying the development of executive functions (i.e. cognitive processes that allow us to achieve goal directed behavior). I currently examine the relation between language and executive processes in bilingual children and adults. In this line of work I am particularly interested in individuals who learn their second language outside their home environment. I am also interested in exploring the relation between affective processes (emotions, emotion regulation) and executive functions. I would love to collaborate with faculty who want to study executive processes and academic achievement.
