Laura Desmond

Laura Desmond started working at Miami University in 2016. In her role as ISSS program manager, she assists with the International Student and Scholar programs, events, orientations, and the International Student Center.

Laura has a business degree from the University of Denver and a Master of Science in Student Affairs of Higher Education from Miami University.

Laura has traveled to three continents and over 40 states. Growing up in Middletown, Ohio, her family hosted many international exchange students and short term visitors. She also studied abroad in Argentina and Chile while in high school and college.

For leisure activities on the weekends, you can find Laura exploring Oxford and Miami University activities with her family. Some favorites include hiking, biking, golfing, and swimming. She is also a Brownie Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s troop and enjoys exploring nature trails and doing arts and crafts projects with the troop.
