The purpose of this eligibility policy is to ensure that an athlete does not neglect academic/school work for the sake of pursuing athletics. While we encourage all students to participate in extracurricular activities, the primary reason for attending MUH is to receive an education. The following guidelines will be followed by all athletes:

Any individual wishing to participate in MUH sponsored sports must have the following grade point averages.

  • Full-time Enrollment: All students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits at time of participation. If a student is enrolled in less than 12 credits, he/she will be considered part-time for eligibility purposes.
  • Requirements for Students Entering Second Semester: Second semester students must have achieved a GPA of 1.6. Any student playing a sport that spans two semesters and becomes ineligible at the break shall cease competition as of January 1st.
  • Requirements after the First Two Semesters: All students must pass 24 credit hours the previous academic school year. After accumulating 24-48 credit hours, the student must have achieved a 1.75 cumulative GPA. After accumulating more than 48 credit hours, the student must have achieved a 2.0 GPA.
