In memoriam: James Simpson

James Simpson, 53, of Ross Township, died Monday, April 25. He most recently worked for the Miami University Hamilton bookstore as a textbook manager. He worked at Miami since 1986.

Simpson served the community as an umpire for fast pitch and slow pitch softball for 25 years. He was a member of ASA Softball and the United States Specialty Sports Association.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; children, Samantha Mireille Simpson and James Benjamin Simpson; mother, Wanda Simpson; and mother-in-law, Vi Martin. Services were held at the Charles C. Young Funeral Home, www.charlesyoungfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
