Jeff Sommers Returns to Miami Regionals' Middletown Campus for Special Lecture on March 3
A year of special events and activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Miami University Regionals' Middletown campus will continue with a special lecture from Jeff Sommers titled A "Human-among- Humans" Pose: Being Shaped by the Middletown Campus at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 3 in the Miriam G. Knoll Community Center.
In this featured event, Jeff Sommers returns to the Middletown campus where he served as an English faculty member from 1981 – 2008 and reflects on changes he has seen at the campus and in higher education more broadly over the last several decades. The original Coordinator of Miami Middletown's Center for Teaching and Learning, a former Associate Dean on this campus, and a winner of Miami's prestigious Knox Distinguished Teaching Award, Dr. Sommers is a nationally known educator and Carnegie Scholar. Most recently, he completed a 10-year run as editor of Teaching English in the Two-Year College.
