Verity Traditions Takes a Look at Television Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Miami University Regionals’ Verity Traditions continues on September 26 at 6 p.m. in Verity Lodge on the Middletown Campus with It’s Not Just Television Anymore: A Public Broadcasting Perspective.

David Fogarty, President of CET, Cincinnati and ThinkTV, Dayton and Jim Wiener, the station’s Chief Programming Executive, takes a look at television yesterday and today and where we’re going. Ongoing research by the A.C. Nielsen Company and others is revealing how television viewing is rapidly changing – and so is the technology we’re using as media consumers. As viewers watch, the “eyes of the industry” are watching them with sophisticated analytics creating a new marketplace for data. What are they learning? Public Broadcasting is also responding to the new media landscape. See what’s in store for the new programming season and beyond.

Next up on October 17 at 6 p.m., Miami Regionals History faculty member Dr. Marsha Robinson will share information about the Appalachian Mountain and the international diversity that exists there.

Verity Traditions connects community and campus with the traditions of Verity Lodge. These programs are free and open to the public.
