The Texas Troubadours to Perform at Miami Regionals' Dave Finkelman Auditorium

The Texas Troubadours featuring Ruthie Foster, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Carrie Rodriguez will perform live at 7:30 p.m. on March 3 at Dave Finkelman Auditorium on Miami University Regionals' Middletown Campus.

The Texas Troubadours project brings Ruthie Foster, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Carrie Rodrigue-three of the Lone Star State's finest-together on stage to swap songs and collaborate. This songwriting circle will be an unforgettable evening of music with a little bit of grit and a whole lot of heart.

Vocal powerhouse Ruthie Foster draws her influence from leading acts like Mavis Staples and Aretha Franklin. Foster's joyful sound blends blues, folk, soul, rock, and gospel. Foster has earned three Grammy nominations and has had numerous wins at the Blues Music Awards, including three awards for Best Female Vocalist and one for DVD of the Year and was honored as Best Female Vocalist at the 2013 Austin Music Awards. In 2016, she was nominated for two Living Blues Awards and won the Koko Taylor Award for Best Traditional Female Blues Artist.

Country musician Jimmie Dale Gilmore is a native of the Texas Panhandle and a founder of legendary band The Flatlanders. His music has earned three Grammy nominations in both contemporary folk and traditional folk categories and he was named Country Artist of the Year three years running by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Carrie Rodriguez, daughter of Texas singer-songwriter David Rodriguez, released her critically acclaimed album Lola in 2016. Named one of NPR's top 30 of the year, the album is inspired by the Chicana singing sensation (and Carrie's great aunt) Eva Garza.

Tickets are $32 for adults; $30 for Seniors, Faculty and Staff; and $24 for Students and Children 12 and under.

The final performance for the 2017-2018 Artist Series will feature Doyle Lawson with Quicksilver on April 14 at the Hamilton Campus' Parrish Auditorium.
