Amanda Means is the Regional Director of Enrollment Management and leads a team that includes Admission, Enrollment Operations, One Stop Services, Financial Aid, Strategic Enrollment Initiatives, and Veteran Services. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV and earned her master’s degree in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in Enrollment Management from Bay Path University including a certificate in Enrollment Management from Ruffalo Noel Levitz.
Amanda is involved in state professional organizations related to enrollment including the Ohio Association of College Admission Counseling and the Ohio Transfer Council where she currently serves as the President-elect. Amanda has presented during several events and conferences in her career including the Ohio Transfer Council Webinar Series, OACAC Annual Conference and Guiding the Way to Inclusion, WVACRAO Annual Conference, NODA Annual Conference, Slate Innovation Festival, Alliance HEUG Conference, and Tri-State Conference on Diversity and Inclusion. She has presented on topics including recruitment, orientation, using inclusive person-first language in higher ed, professional development, and more.
Amanda has spent her career in higher education at public universities that are accessible to students and serve many first-generation college students like her. To Amanda, “serving students is a special privilege. My own experience as a first-generation college student taught me that staff and faculty on campuses can change lives. I feel incredibly lucky that I get to use my skills and experience to impact access, transfer, retention and degree attainment in Ohio, and I'm thrilled to continue that work with the Miami University Regional Campuses.”
Outside of Miami, Amanda spends her time with her husband Wes, a high school language arts teacher and also a first-generation college student, her two daughters, Harper and Avery, and their family pets. She enjoys visiting her extended family and attending concerts whenever she can.
